meet miss alison

"Miss Alison" is a passionate musician and music educator from small town Saskatchewan. She grew up with a natural draw to music. Family gatherings typically included jam sessions led by her grandparents. Watching her family members play guitar, accordion, mandolin, harmonica and violin inspired her to take lessons of her own.
As a young girl, Alison began piano lessons with an older cousin. Her earliest memories of learning included a miniature electric organ with tape across the keys to learn the note names! Piano lessons prepared her for Grade 5 band and the introduction to trumpet. This is where she found a true spark for group performance and jazz.
Alison completed a Bachelor of Music, (specializing in trumpet), and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Saskatchewan. She began her teaching journey as an elementary music specialist, and after ten years and two kiddos of her own, she opened a home studio.
"Miss Alison" currently runs her own early childhood music studio and teaches piano students of all ages. She plays piano, ukulele, guitar, sings, and dabbles on the drums. Her experience working with young children inspired the development of the Mini Mozarts Piano series.
